I just had my own little rant about exactly the same thing today. I was not nearly so eloquent (which is fine since I don't make my living writing) but every bit as angry over the Evangelical Church enabling this crap! Thank you for your very important voice!

So true. I don’t think I will ever quit being a Christ-follower (won’t say Christian anymore because it’s been co-opted by the Trump cult), but i am considering not going to church much because my Episcopalian pastor refuses to preach about the immorality of the far right because it’s political. Political, BS! It’s morality, it’s good vs evil! I want you to at least talk the talk! The Presiding Bishop has spoken out at the national level, but our pastor won’t speak out on a local level. Because he is more worried about ASA (Average Sunday Attendance) than what is happening in the US. Shameful!

This^^!!! My sentiments exactly. Thank you for articulating my frustrations. I’ve decided to hand pick my “church” family and go the small group route vs feel the resentment of attending a service that doesn’t directly address its culpability in the demise of democracy.

Amen. Thank you for being an example of someone who has not abandoned her faith while calling out Christian nationalism for its blasphemous idolatry of Trump. It’s ludicrous and yet not funny at all. Thank you for restoring some faith in- well, my Christian faith— not the one co opted by hateful, hypocritical, modern day Pharisees.

Thank you for speaking up and out.

I am a person of little faith, yet even I can recognize he is NOT a man of God, nor does he follow the path of Jesus.

You are absolutely 100% correct with what you said here. In my opinion, he doesn't have a religious bone in his body. Thank you, MKB.

I totally agree with you. Anyone who doesn't, isn't really listening to what you're saying. You're refuting the fact that Trump thinks he's on a mission from God.

You can't be on a mission from God if you don't really know God or His son Jesus. And I'm pretty sure he doesn't know Jesus. He has stated that he doesn't forgive nor does he ask for forgiveness. He shows absolutely no Christ-like attributes.

He uses God to attract followers just like so many cult leaders have done. He is simply on a mission from Trump and for Trump. Thanks for speaking out and speaking the truth!

I think if we look closely at all if this....these notices are coming from the people pulling the strings. Appealing to his ego....and to his uneducated followers. Trump loves the spotlight....

You have been wrong since Covid when you blamed all the anti vaxers. Hmm i suppose you dont believe any of the negative things about that either. Wake up! Please tell me as a Christian, you believe Kamala Harris was the ONE?! PLEASE! Let’s just kill all the babies. Live immoral lives. Biden was completely incompetent and set us back as a nation so many years. YOU need to wake up! I quit following you on FB for this very reason. You think you are right about everything. Read your Bible before preaching to Christ followers. As a Trump supporter I don’t put him on a pedestal or think he is God! But he definitely is the best choice for our nation at this time. Stop judging, you don’t know his heart! Quit listening to all the MSM BS! And if your’re against the ILLEGALS being deported (because honestly i couldnt even get through all your email you sent it out because it is all nonsense) but by all means take them into your home.

This is an embarrassing comment. Your heart is not in a good place. I hope you find peace and love. It is out there among the people who are trying to make life easier for those who need it. I am not a Christian but a Christ-follower. I would rather give than receive. I would rather lift others up than tear them down. I have compassion for others, no matter their status. I will pray for you.

I would suggest to any and everyone who subscribes to Netflix to watch THE FAMILY. It is a six episode exposé about the deep, religious movement that has been afoot for decades now. It is world-wide as told by Jeff Sharlet in his 2008 book, “The Family: The Secret Fundamentalism at the Heart of American Power” and his 2010 book, “C Street: The Fundamentalist Threat to American Democracy”. These are but two of the many books and articles he has written. His information can all be found on Wikipedia if you want to know more. I can say, if you wonder how all this religious fervor could be taking hold now and with trump at the helm of it all, make it a point to watch the show. It will explain an awful lot.

Hmmm, when I read my Bible, so far I haven’t found one person used by God that was in any way perfect! Adulterous, murderers, liars, thieves and all manner of evil were the perpetrators God chose because He looked beyond their gross sins and said… here is one I can use! Trump definitely doesn’t qualify as a choir boy, but he seems willing and that’s all that God needs is someone’s availability!

God doesn’t require perfection to use someone to do His will and often we wouldn’t even agree with God on who, or how or when he chooses to do His will, whether it be changing kings or delivering people from bondage!

God is so much bigger than Trump or any former world leader, as He in his own way moves them around like pawns on a Chess board of life, to complete His desire on this His earth!

If Trump screws it up, we’ll so has most of all the others!

So let me get this straight. God’s mission, through

His Son Jesus, WAS NOT to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, heal the sick, or seek peace? He DOESN’T command us to love our neighbor as ourselves? You must be reading a different Bible than I did back in Sunday School.

So taking food away from starving children is God's will? Violating a person's right to sovereignty and locking them up without due process is God's will? Lying to the public about things that affect their health and well-being is God's will? If this is God's will, Donna, then you and I are following vastly different gods. May He have mercy on your soul.

Please stop making excuses for someone who has no repentance of anything he says or does. Yes we’ve all sinned and will but good grief many came to true change of character and choices they make!! He has too much ego, greed and pride! Gaslighting big time

You are so very right in everything you said about Trump.

Here in Iowa, all the candidates of both parties swarm us before the big caucuses. In 2016, Trump visited a local church where a local reporter interviewed him, which has been re-aired many times.

Trump was asked about forgiveness, and he said, "I never ever forgiven anybody for anything. Nor have I ever asked for, or ever received forgiveness for anything."

Yet the very foundation of all Christianity is forgiveness.

Last year, I helped a very spiritually young co-worker through a nasty divorce.

She wanted to get her life back together with God. But the Trump supporting hypocritical 21st century Pharisees were a big issue for her.

She almost begged me to refer her to a non-Trumpian church. But I myself have not been inside any church in the last 5

years for the very same reason. I can not help her find a church when I can't even find on for myself and my wife.
